Archiving and Digital Preservation Policy
Elektron ensures the permanent preservation of all published articles through a multi-level security system:
-
International Preservation Networks: The journal utilizes the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), which automatically deposits content into the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system. This decentralized network distributes copies among libraries and institutions worldwide to guarantee data recovery in the event of a contingency.
-
Institutional Infrastructure: As part of the digital ecosystem of the School of Engineering, University of Buenos Aires (FIUBA), all contents are stored on institutional servers with a daily backup schedule. This ensures immediate availability and recovery from any local technical failures.
-
Persistent Identifiers: The journal employs standardized metadata to ensure that bibliographic records remain searchable and accessible in perpetuity.
