Open Access Policy

Elektron adheres to the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) under the Diamond Open Access model.

In compliance with this definition, the journal guarantees free, immediate, and unrestricted access to all its scientific content. Elektron allows any user to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of its articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself.

Consequently, the journal is governed by the following principles:

• No costs for authors (No APCs): No charges or fees are levied for processing, reviewing, editing, or publishing articles (Article Processing Charges).

• No costs for readers: Access to articles, as well as reading, downloading, and subscribing, is completely free of charge.

• Editorial Independence: Since the journal is sponsored by the School of Engineering of the University of Buenos Aires (FIUBA) and its editorial board serves on an ad honorem basis, the evaluation process remains free from economic pressures or commercial interests. This ensures that the acceptance of manuscripts is based exclusively on criteria of excellence, technical rigor, and scientific relevance, maintaining the necessary timeframes for high-quality peer review.
