Elektron adheres to the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) specifically under the Diamond Open Access model. This policy ensures free, immediate, and equal access to all scientific content.

Consequently, the journal is governed by the following principles:

• No Article Processing Charges (No APCs): No fees are charged for the submission, processing, or publication of articles.

• No cost to readers: Accessing, downloading, and subscribing to the journal’s content is completely free of charge.

• Editorial Independence: As the journal is sponsored by the School of Engineering of the University of Buenos Aires and its editorial board serves on an ad honorem basis, the evaluation process remains free from economic pressures or commercial interests. This ensures that the acceptance of manuscripts is based solely on criteria of excellence, technical rigor, and scientific relevance, respecting the timeframes required for high-quality peer review.
