Accepted Article Types

Elektron accepts contributions in the following seven manuscript categories:

1. Original Research

The standard format for publishing complete research reports. It must present original data and follow the traditional academic structure: Introduction, Methodology, Results, and Discussion (IMRaD). This format is suitable for detailed empirical studies and foundational technological developments.

2. Short Communications (Short Reports / Letters)

Manuscripts intended for the rapid dissemination of preliminary results or high-impact original findings that require urgent publication due to the dynamic nature of the field. They have strict length limits and often precede a more extensive research article.

3. Review Articles

Documents that provide a critical and comprehensive analysis of the state-of-the-art in a specific topic. They should offer perspective on current and future trends in the field. These articles typically feature extensive bibliographies and are often authored by recognized experts.

4. Methodologies and Methods

Articles dedicated to presenting new experimental methods, tests, or technical procedures. The work must demonstrate a substantial improvement or disruptive innovation over existing techniques, ensuring the reproducibility of the described method.

5. Technical Reports

Formal documents designed to communicate specific processes, progress, or results of technical or scientific research. They are structured to allow access to different levels of information, including technical recommendations and conclusions regarding the status of an engineering problem.

6. Engineering Education Research

Contributions focused on educational innovation and the development of teaching materials within the field of engineering. The goal is to disseminate research on new pedagogical methodologies, educational reasoning, and classroom experiences relevant to the training of engineers.

7. Student Articles

A dedicated space to foster a culture of scientific publishing among undergraduate and graduate students. Authors will receive detailed academic feedback to help them understand the editorial process and improve their scientific writing skills. Once published, these articles provide a global platform to showcase the work of future professionals.
